Iroquois Beaded Whimsy Heart Pincushion
Late Victorian/Edwardian era, probably from Six Nations and made for the tourist trade.
Fresh to the market and handed down through one family, this beaded whimsy is presented in "as found" condition and is slightly distressed.
Beautiful loops and ropes of clear glass beads are highlighted by bright and vivid red, green and black beads forming leaves and the floral centre. Made with great skill and artistry.
There are several holes and areas of fabric shop weakness present on both front and back with some sawdust escaping from a hole on the reverse. There has been some loss to the beading loops around the edge as shown in pictures and some discolouration of the trim.
Measures about 5 1/2 inches tall by 5 inches wide and about 2 inches deep.
