"Illumuniation" is another piece in my series where I utilize undertones behind the main background to create shop depth. Here I used 24K Gold as the base coat. I then applied a mars black second coat and then painted the foreground in gold, copper, blue, red and white. Finally, I removed parts of the black second coat to reveal the gold beneath. I really enjoy the texture and depth that this method creates. The gold shimmers and glows and seems to light the final composition from within.

Painting is finished with satin varnish to protect against dust and UV rays and to enhance colors.

Sides of canvas are painted so framing is not necessary.
