this fabric has been used by the Canadian military since the 1960s its a heavyweight cotton twill with nylon referred to as Nyco with a "twist" in the fabric.
this was the later 2nd issue of the combat hat that ran shop from mid 80s to mid 90s
hat can be folded up for no cover over ears or folded down to cover ears
