Small Goblet shop style Yunomi shino ceramic stoneware

shop This goblet ***purely decorative*** is carved by hand using the so-called Kurinuki technique. A lump of clay is first hollowed out and then textured by cutting and tearing. Following a first firing at 998 degrees centigrade and enamelling, the ceramic is brought to 1260 degrees centigrade in a gas oven to melt the enamel. A shino-type enamel was applied to give an Asian look to the piece.
