Antique Gilt Sweetheart? Emblematic? bird open wings lapel pin shop brooch amethyst foil lined paste and clear paste stones
A very interesting piece - I feel it stands for something. Something like a sweetheart brooch or it represents a certain movement?
It is a gilt pin with an open winged bird (dove?) at the top followed by a length of wide articulated mesh type strap.
At the bottom is a large faceted amethyst foil lined paste with a ring of clear paste set stones
On the back is a pin that it attached at the top with a closure on the end of it
Condition overall is good.
Slight variation on one of the shop paste stones along the ring. Some of the foil behind the amethyst paste is missing
The attached pin on the back has some flat silver tone near where it attaches - not sure if this constitutes soldering, although I always thought soldering would create a 'lump'
Measures 5.6cm in length,
Wing-span of bird is 5.1cm
